Why should I order from MagazinesByMail?
There are some great reasons:
  1. our pricing policy is to be the cheapest in the market for a comparable service e.g. airmail delivery to your door
  2. we offer responsive personal service. We are an Australian based supplier so sorting out any issue is much easier for you
  3. our advertised prices include GST and delivery (unlike some others!) so there aren't undisclosed add ons that you find out during the checkout process
  4. all payments are in AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS so you avoid any horrible bank fees and terrible exchange rates which you will incur if you purchase from a foreign supplier - these fees and exchange rates will add to the cost of a subscription from a foreign supplier
  5. unlike many other suppliers you can cancel your subscription and obtain a refund but please note due to ordering lead times we do need 3 months notice
  6. our mags arrive in bulk and we arrange distribution locally. This way you are not subject to the vagaries of the international mail system.
  7. we love our mags and will always value our customers
Can I cancel a subscription?
You may cancel a subscription at any time and receive a credit or cash refund for the unexpired portion of your subscription. As we import magazines directly you must give 3 months notice to enable us to manage our ordering lead times. Cash refunds are made via electronic transfer only and will incur a $10 processing charge.
How long does it take to receive my first magazine?
This is often a curly one for customers because in this industry you might have to wait a while for your first edition. Why? Well it really is a detailed business arranging different suppliers, printing, air freight, local mail etc. In the USA they will mostly print your own special copy so this can take a while to get into their systems as they plan print runs months ahead - weird we know! That's our problem I hear you say! We agree and we will hold stock on many popular titles to try and "alleviate the wait." If we don't hold stock, or it's sold out, below are the delivery estimates of your first magazine:
  • For UK magazines this is somewhere between 5-9 weeks depending on the title.
  • For USA magazines this is about 8-10 weeks again depending on the title.
  • For European magazines we may be able to source your magazine in as little as two weeks - they do things differently in Europe.
If I order a single copy when will it be delivered?
Single copy orders are subject to the same delivery and order lead times as subscriptions. However as always, if we have the item in stock you may get it much quicker. Its a great way for you to see if you would like to arrange a subscription!
How is local delivery arranged?
We use either Australia Post regular mail or Fastaway Couriers depending on the Magazine size, weight and destination.

For deliveries by Fastaway Couriers you must let us know delivery instructions e.g. leave in letter box or deliver to a real live person!

If you wish, you can let us know to always use Fastaway Couriers however this may result in a small additional charge of about $3. For this you get person to person delivery and insurance.
What does delivery cost?
It's included in our price unless you live outside one of the Australian Capital cities. Even if you live in the country there is only a small surcharge of about $2 per magazine, if you live in the "outback" let us know and we will work out a solution!. Contact us if you would like to discuss delivery price.
How are your Magazines delivered to Australia?
All our Magazines arrive by airfreight so they are nice and fresh!
Do you issue an invoice for purchases?
Yes we send it with your order.
Do your prices include GST?
Absolutely.
What currency are your prices?
Australian dollars only.
What pricing do I get if I order more than one subscription?
You will save money! Let us know what you would like and we will work out an attractive price.
Are the magazines I see on your web site the current month copy?
We like to show you as much current information as possible, however given the timing of your order and our receipt of stock this will not always be the case. Our website was constructed so you can see large copies of magazines on your screen so you can verify the date of issue.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Just purchase the subscription as usual and fill in the delivery address and name for the intended recipient! If you don't know which magazine to purchase email us to arrange a prepaid credit and an emailed gift certificate."
Sometimes magazines are sold with free gifts; do you include these with your service?
We endeavor to, however as our magazines are air freighted this is not always possible. Check with us if you have a specific query.
What happens if my Magazine goes missing in the mail?
If delivery is made by Australia Post you must notify us and we will endeavor to track it down.

If delivery is made by Fastaway Couriers, insurance is automatically provided to a maximum of $100. Contact us in the unlikely event you have a claim.

In our sole discretion we will seek to replace your magazine.
Do you have a newsletter?
We are developing this right now and will email you the first copy when it is available.
What if I input the wrong address or move?
Just let us know and we will update our records. If a magazine has been sent to the wrong address, due to your error, as you would expect we can't be held responsible.
What is your refund policy?
As you would expect it is difficult to refund magazines purchased unless there is a reason pursuant to the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth) and Sale of Goods Act 1958 (Vic).

What is your privacy policy?
We won't ever do anything to compromise your privacy. Our policy appears below.
How safe is your payments mechanism?
We selected ANZ to provide our payment system and links from our website to theirs. We don't retain or even see a copy of your credit card details in order to provide you with peace of mind. ANZ provide us with confirmation of payment.

When do I reorder to make sure my subscription is continuous from the expiry of a current subscription?
This is best done 3 issues before the end of the current subscription - you guessed it, this is due to order lead times!

Refund policy

Refunds will only be issued to the extent required by the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth) and Sale of Goods Act 1958 (Vic).

We will offer a refund only if we are unable to replace the item and if we are contacted within 14 days from the invoice date. No refunds are offered after 14 days.

No refunds are offered if you have just changed your mind about the goods. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Refunds will be issued by electronic bank transfer or credit card transfer.

Nothing in the above is to be taken as an express or implied repudiation of the Seller's obligations under these pieces of legislation.

At MagazinesByMail.com.au, we appreciate that you value your privacy and wish to have your personal information kept secure. Our privacy policy describes generally how we manage your personal information and protect your privacy. We shall also ensure that we comply with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

At MagazinesByMail.com.au, we only collect personal information that is necessary for us to conduct our business as an online provider of goods.

The personal information we collect will include information you give us when you place an order for the purchase of a good we supply. Please note, we will record your email address if you send us an email.

We may also use your personal information to provide you with information about other services offered by us. However, the only information that you must provide is your name, address and payment details (where applicable). If you would prefer not to receive promotional or other material from us, please let us know and we will respect your request.

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) you have a right to request access to your personal information held by us. You may do this by sending us an email.
